Keeping abreast of 2016 campaign trends is particularly important to us since it can often mean the difference between success and failure in the political merchandise and collectibles business. Calculate wrong and you can wind up with thousands of campaign bumper stickers and buttons for candidates that either never made it thru the primaries or never made it to the alter in Washington, D.C. (Anyone want to buy the 3,215 bumper stickers we still have left over from the McCain campaign?!). Guess wrong in the other direction and you find yourself out of inventory just when a candidate gets "hot". So we watched with great interest when the Democratic candidates for President took the stage last night in Las Vegas, Nevada for the first 2016 Democratic debate. Would we find ourselves licking our wounds with thousands of Hillary Clinton buttons we still have in stock? Based on the orders and requests we have received for democratic candidate items since the conclusion of the Democratic debate, we can say the following: 1. We're very glad we have a lot of Hillary Clinton merchandise in stock 2. We're glad we stocked up on Bernie Sanders merchandise 3. We wish we had more Martin O'Malley merchandise 4. We're glad we don't have many Jim Webb items left to sell 5. We wonder why in the world we ever carried Lincoln Chafee items 6. We wish we had thought to carry Anderson Cooper buttons
