Eight page program from the 1951 Campaign Dinner of the Republican Central Campaign Committee, held October 23, 1951 at Convention Hall in Philadelphia when Daniel Poling was running for Mayor of Philadelphia and Dwight Eisenhower was beginning his campaign for the Republican nomination for President. Includes the menu from the event and a Republican logo elephant on the front. Original tassel still attached to an attractive front cover. Includes a signature on page 3 of Daniel Poling, however we do not know if this is his original signature so consider it a bonus if it is! .
Historical Notes
Poling was defeated by Democrat Joseph S. Clark, Jr in the race of Philadephia Mayor in 1951. However President Harry S. Truman selected Poling as an investigator into tax scandals in his administration.
