Unique set of eighteen (18) different tickets to the 1973 Inauguration Ceremonies for Richard M. Nixon and Spiro Agnew as President and Vice President of the United States. Many of these variations of the tickets are seldom seen tickets - especially all at one time. Each ticket is for a different seating section at the inauguration including: Senate Steps, Press Guest, Senate Wing, Employee and many other sections.
These tickets come from a collection of inaugural and other collectible items we recently acquired from the family of a retired White House administration employee. None of these tickets were ever distributed which is why they are in very good clean condition.
Historical Notes
An amazing number of different section tickets were issued for the 1973 inauguration ceremonies. As legend has it, the Inaugural Committee was particularly sensitive to issues of security at this inauguration, so they felt that by issuing specific tickets to specific locations with different colored tickets was a way of better controlling the crowd and security.
