Original letter on official letterhead from President Franklin D. Roosevelt when he was Governor of the State of New York. The letter is dated January 9, 1931 and was written to the Revered Walter Reid discussing jobs for unemployed laborers in New Jersey during the depression. Roosevelt explains that the laws of New York require only the hiring of local citizens of New York. Interesting presidential and depression era memorabilia item.
