This is an original badge to the 1984 Republican National Convention. The convention nominated Ronald Reagan for President of the United States. This was Reagan's second term. The Republican convention was held in Detroit Michigan July 14 - 17. Former governor Ronald Reagan of California won the nomination for president and former U.S. representative George H.W. Bush of Texas won the nomination for vice president. Reagan would go on to win the presidency in a landslide victory over incumbent President Jimmy Carter.
