Charles Evans Hughes, 1862-1948. Associate Justice, United States Supreme Court, 1910-1916; Chief Justice of the United States, 1930-1941. Typed Letter Signed, Charles E. Hughes, one page, 8” x 10½”, on engraved stationery of the Secretary of State of the United States, Washington, D.C.,September 23, 1924. He was the Republican candidate in the 1916 U.S. Presidential election, losing narrowly to incumbent President Woodrow Wilson. Hughes has signed his letter with his typical ornate and powerful signature in black fountain pen. The signature is 3” long. The letter is sent to a Mr. Kenneth Landis of the Keystone State Normal School in Kitztow, Pennsylvania. Includes an embossed Great Seal of the United States in the upper left corner. All our presidents autographs are guaranteed authentic
