Sometimes we come across items that we just find darn interesting even if we don't know much about it. this is a four page request document distributed by the Ordinance Office, Washington in the 1860's. It is a type of form letter distributed to the Governors of the States and Territories that would be filled out by the governor and returned to Washington in order to receive their an allotment of guns and artillery. It lists a total of thirty six different items that could be ordered along with the cost of each. The items include such things as Muskets, Long Range Rifles, Holster Pistols, Cavalry Carbines, Howitzers and even a Battery Wagon with tools. The document was never filled out or sent and therefore has no date other than 186 (which we assume means the complete date would be entered when filled in by the Governor. Interesting piece of military history. Original.
