The first time we saw this paper we assumed it was the famous Dewey Defeats Truman newspaper that we have specialized in for many years. But imagine our surprise when we re-read the headline and realized this newspaper CORRECTLY reported the results of the election, and did so in the same style and feel of the Chicago Tribune paper that got it wrong. Until we came across this paper we never knew that it existed. We've searched our resources and the internet and could not find any other newspaper with the same headline, anywhere in the world. Is it rare? You bet. Think of it this way. The relatively small "The Evening Bulletin" of Providence Rhode Island circulation was eclipsed by the enormous circulation of the Chicago Tribune - in other words - far less copies were originally printed of the Rhode Island newspaper. How many? We don't know yet, but we're on a mission to find out. Will this newspaper be as popular as the famous Chicago Tribune newspaper with the iconic - and embarrassing - headline? Certainly not. But, as a companion newspaper framed side by side these two newspapers making an amazing statement. How much is this newspaper worth? At this point we honestly don't know. We are doing more research, but undoubtedly owners of the Dewey Defeats Truman newspaper will covet this remarkable "cousin".
