Letter on official White House letterhead signed by Mrs. Hoover's secretary to a Mrs. W. J. Friel of Upper Darby Pennsylvania. The letter was written on behalf of the First Lady offering a White House gift print to be auctioned by the Parents Association of the American Legion Bugle and Drum Corp. The gift print is a reproduction of a lithograph of The White House from 1948. Mrs. Hoover asked me to acknowledge your letter of November 15 requesting a prize for the annual card party..... The only article which we have on hand at the moment is this little picture of the White House..."
