Original broadside document titled "A Nation Mourns Her Martyr'd Son" Produced in memory of the Abraham Lincoln the Sixteenth President of the United States. Published in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A poem/song written by Alice Hawthorne and Sep. Winner and registered in the Clerk's Office of the District Court for the Ester District of Pa. Original. Attractively, and professionally framed, along with a very nice engraving of President Lincoln and a printed signature beneath the engraving. The Assassination of President Lincoln occurred April 14, 1865 at 10:00 p.m. after actor John Wilkes Booth entered the presidential box at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C., and fatally shot President Abraham Lincoln. As Lincoln slumped forward in his seat, Booth leapt onto the stage and escaped through the back door. A doctor in the audience rushed over to examine the paralyzed president.
