1818 Rhode Island Gubernatorial Election Ticket. Interesting piece of Rhode Island history. Dates to April 15, 1818, and promotes the Federalist candidate Elisha Reynolds Potter against the Democratic-Republican party candidate Nehemiah Rice Knight. Knight was victorious over Potter in the election. A large ticket, clipped at one time from an 1818 newspaper. Original.
Nehemiah Rice Knight was the incumbent Governor in the 1818 election and won re-election garnering 4,509 votes to become Rhode Island's Governor.
