1914 Belgium Gratitude for American Aid Medal. White metal featuring Albert and Queen Elisabeth on the front.. Designed by Godefroid Devreese, honored American humanitarian aid. Its reverse depicts Columbia distributing wheat to a Belgian family. A note from the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Museum in West Branch, Iowa states that it is a silver plated over a brass base, but since we are unsure if that is correct we simply calling it a white medal. Original.
