Original, 1944 Democratic National Convention that nominated Franklin Delano Roosevelt for his fourth, and last term.
Metal bar at top with a white star above and raised text that reads simply "OFFICIAL" and engraved "Assistant to Director beneath. Suspended from the bar silk ribbon. Below that hard plastic (this was war time so badges were not brass), shield badge with an image of a Revolutionary War Minuteman flanked by American Flags. Text reads "Democratic National Convention Chicago 1944".
At the National Convention, the Democratic Party officials essentially dumped the Vice Presidential incumbent, Henry Wallace in favor of Harry Truman.
