In an effort to ride the coattails of Ronald Reagan Geroge Bush sought to ride on the popularlity of the two-term republican President. Bright, colorful buttons.The blue button says "Win One More For the Gipper" and was issued during the campaign. The second version was produced right after President Bush won the election and says "He Won One More For the Gipper". Fun set for both the Reagan and Bush collector.
Win One For the Gipper remembers George Gipp, The Gipper, who played college football under University of Notre Dame coach Knute Rockne. Gipp died at age 25 of phenumonia and became the inspiration behind the iconic speech by Rockne, who was later portrayed in the film Knute Rockne, All American starring Ronald Reagan.
