Rare Andrew Johnson 1865 White House Invitation, “J” monogrammed at top of fold-over invitation. "The President of the United States and Mrs. Johnson request the pleasure of Mr & Mrs Robinson's Company to Dinner on Friday next at 6 o'clock, March 14, 1868. One can only imagine the dinner conversation as President Johnson was in the midst of one of the most dramatic events in political history as he faced impeachment proceedings in the Senate and House of Representatives. Interesting piece of political history. "The President of the United States" printed at top. Original, of course.

The House agreed to the articles of impeachment on March 2, 1868. The Senate began its trial on 5th.
