2005 Scarce Bush White House Welcomes World Series Champions Boston Red Sox - Ticket Original ticket for the team to visit President Bush at The White House. "President George W. Bush Welcomes The World Champion Boston Red Sox. Wednesday March 2, 2005". Apparently a tightly controlled event as the reverse of the ticket says that only original tickets will be accepted and reproduction tickets will be a violation of Federal Law. Great addition to your presidential or Boston Red Sox or as a gift to a Steelers fan. This is the blue version of the ticket with slightly different wording than the red ticket, what the different colors meant we have no idea. Original, of course.
This is from the personal collection of a former White House staff member.
From the speech given by George W. Bush at the event:
“You know, the last time the Red Sox were here, Woodrow Wilson lived here. There were only 16 teams in baseball then. After the World Series victory in 1918, a reporter from Boston said, "The luckiest baseball spot on Earth is Boston, for it has never lost a World Series." That's one optimistic writer. ”
