Exquisite hand carved and hand painted statue of President Richard Nixon. Wood figure measuring 8.5" tall that we recently acquired. From master carvers Gunnarsson from Stockholm Sweden and inscribed with the carvers initials and numbered on the bottom of his feet. The Gunnarssons were were well known for their flat-plane style carving out of one piece of wood. Original.

Flat-plane style of woodcarving is a style of figure carving where the figures are carved in large flat planes, using a carving knife with very little rounding or sanding is done.
