John F. Kennedy Pre-Convention Reception Invitation, Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, July 10 (1960 DNC), Named to NY Delegate Joseph A. McKinney.

Elegant engraved invitation from Senator and Mrs. John F. Kennedy inviting Joseph A. McKinney, a New York political figure and convention delegate, to a reception held at the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles on Sunday, July 10—the day before the start of the 1960 Democratic National Convention.

Printed in formal script and topped with a gold embossed presidential-style eagle, the invitation reflects the early stages of Kennedy’s campaign as he prepared to secure the Democratic nomination. The event, held in the Biltmore’s ballroom from one to four o’clock, would have been part of the critical pre-convention networking and support-building among party delegates.

The lower portion includes RSVP details to Room 1315 at the Biltmore, adding a personal and logistical touch typical of high-level political events of the era.

A hard to find and displayable piece of Kennedy campaign ephemera, directly tied to the pivotal days leading up to his nomination for President. Original, of course.
