1899 Union League Founds Day annual banquet program and menu. Guests of the event included John D. Long, the Secretary of the Navy. Charles Emory Smith the Postmaster General and more. Original program and event ticket. Incidentally, the menu included quail stuffed with oysters and lobster en coquille.
It's a tug of war as to which is the key reason why many people collect Union League artifacts and memorabilia. Is it the beautifully designed programs and invitations? Or is it the long list of Presidents and world leaders who attended their meetings?
