2013 Barack Obama and Joe Biden Inauguration Police Badge Challenge Coin. From Barack Obama's second term inauguration. One side has eagle at top with shield in the center and District of Columbia surrounding the shield. In the center is a Seal of the President inside a 5-corner star, with Metropolitan Police Inauguration of the President surrounding and the year 2013 below. The second side has an image of The White House in the center with a partial flag image above. Along the edge it reads 57th Inauguration of the President of the United States 2013.
At the 2013 inauguration, the poem recited wasn’t by a traditional “establishment” poet but by Richard Blanco, who became the first Latino and openly gay poet chosen to write and read a poem for a presidential inauguration. The poem he read was titled “One Today.” This choice reflected both diversity and a modern twist on inauguration tradition
