Patrick J Hurley Secretary of War during Herbert Hoover Administration Signed & Inscribed Photograph. Hurley was sent to China in 1944 as President Roosevelt's personal representative to Chiang Kai-shek. His term in that capacity was seen by many as a failure and to bring the two Chinese factions together. Suitable for framing. Original.
From the collection of a former White House Police Liueutenant
Failing in his attempts in CHina, Hurley resigned as the Ambassador to China in 1945 and instead of retiring racefully, publicised his concerns regarding many high-rnaking members of the U.S. State Department.
