This scarce 1937 invitation from the Siamese Legation in Washington, D.C., marks Constitution Day. Issued by Minister Phraya Abhibal Rajamaitri and Madame Rajamaitri, it invited guests to a December 10th diplomatic event celebrating Thailand’s constitutional monarchy. The invitation is addressed to "The Honorable and Mrs. Louis Johnson." Johnson served as the Assistant Secretary of War.
The name "Legation" refers to a diplomatic mission in Washington, D.C.. At the time, Thailand was still a legation, not an embassy.
