Kennedy collectors will no doubt note that Swainson appeared on a flasher button during the 1960 presidential campaign, along with candiate John F. Kennedy. Michigan gained one additional seat in Congress due to apportionment after the 1960 censues. Staebler was elected as an at-large candidate from the Democratic Party to the 88th Congress.
