1961 Inauguration program for Texas Governor Price Daniel and Lieutenant Governor Ben Ramsey. The inauguration was particularly historic given that Daniels would be defeated in the 1962 election by John Connolly who later was injured in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Daniel was reelected governor in 1958 and 1960. In 1960, Daniel prevailed in the election by a huge margin Daniel received 1,637,755 votes (72.8 percent) to Republican William M. Steger of Tyler, who obtained 612,963 ballots (27.2 percent).
