On January 19, 1949, the Presidential Electors hosted an Inaugural Dinner at Washington, D.C.'s Mayflower Hotel, honoring President Harry S. Truman and Vice President Alben W. Barkley. This event, held the evening before their inauguration, featured prominent guests.
