1868 Ulysses S. Grant Albumen Badge. With gold portrait of Grant in military uniform with ornate border in very fine condition. Original.
Albumen prints were introduced in 1850 and uses egg whites mixed with salt to bind photographic chemicals to paper. Coated with silver nitrate, it is exposed to light under a negative.
