Original Inaugural Medal from the 1901 Inauguration of William McKinley as President of the United States. This is one of the first official medals ever issued. Mintage is estimated at approximately 4,000 medals and measures 44 mm and is manufactured of heavy bronze. The medals were produced by Joseph K Davison and Sons for the inaugural committee. This particular medal displays exceptionally bright and in very fine condition, we believe that at some point in the past the owner polished the medal which we never do. Although, we must admit is looks great. Original.
