The button was produced during the 1956 Democratic Convention after Democratic candidate Adlai Stevenson surprised everyone when he opened the convention to various candidates for his running-mate. Humphrey, along with Lyndon Johnson, Stuart Symington and even John F Kennedy were considered possibilities as to who his running-mate. Original.
