1948 Republican National Convention Alternate’s Badge. Bronze goldplate,47.2 x 32.7mm, plus Lincoln-ALTERNATE pinback header, deep blue ribbon. Uncirculated. Obv. Eagle suspender over Liberty Bell, circle border with Convention legend. Made by Bastian Bros., Rochester, N.Y, three Union “bugs.” In deep blue box of issue. This was the convention that launched New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey toward his “sure victory” over President Harry S. Truman.
