1906 Illinois State Fair Medal Civil War Badge. Attractive souvenir medal form the Illinois State Fair in 1906, which honored the veterans of the Civil War as well as the Spanish American War. The suspension bar features the eagle and shield from the Iowa state flag, and reads " Illinois State Fair - 1906 ". The round bronze medal features the bust of Civil War Colonel James Mulligan, and reads " Lay Me Down and Save the Flag" The reverse reads - Illinois State Board of Agriculture - To Commemorate the Valor of our Soldiers and Sailors - 1861-1865 - 1898-1901 Original".
