Scarce Presidential night parade campaign lantern made of paper. It has an incredible array of patriotic symbols and images on each panel. One is for President Benjamin Harrison, another is for his Vice-President Levi Morton from the 1888 Presidential campaign. One side Five separate panels of graphics. The paper lantern would have been attached to a wire frame which amazingly we still have and it is in one piece and will be included. When attached it 'inflates" to a more founded size thanks to the inside frame and displays all sides of the lantern. One frame includes the campaign slogan "Tippecanoe & Morton Too" and the headline "Protection! We Will support the Interests of America" You can even see where the candle holder is attached to the wire frame at the bottom. Candles were placed inside and the lantern would be illuminated for the night parade. As you can imagine 99% of them most likely burned up Great piece of Presidential Americana. These lanterns are always fragile so we would recommend displaying it flat as shown in the pictures. However, if you choose to attach it to the metal framing please be extra careful since since after over 100 years these paper lanters. Original.
