A scant three years before the Cuban missile crisis that was the closed the world came to a full-scale nuclear war, Nikita Khruschehev, Chairman of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, was honored at a civic luncheon held at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It was held with the cooperation and support of the United Nations Association of Pittsburgh. Khrushchev was the keynote speaker. Henry Cabot Lodge introduced Khrushchev.
