Original photograph taken September 28, 1948 showing President Harry Truman meeting with a young Congressman from Texas Lyndon Johnson. The photo was taken on Truman's special train "as he campaigned in Texas, Sept 27. In speech Truman gave his support to Johnson for U.S. Senator. Associated Press wirephoto. AP wirephoto stamp on the reverse.
Cropping a photo is a term used in the newspaper industry to identify where a photograph will be "cropped" to accentuate what the editor felt was the most important part of the photograph.
