Rare Abraham Lincoln “With Malice Toward None” Lead Die Trial – Possible Prototype Medal, c. Late 19th Century. Unusual and historically intriguing lead die trial (“splasher”) featuring Abraham Lincoln in profile surrounded by his immortal words, “With Malice Toward None, With Charity for All.” Measuring 1¾″ in diameter and weighing 0.84 ounces, this thin, slightly pliable piece was likely created as a test impression for a Lincoln memorial medal die.

Blank reverse and irregular edge consistent with die-trial production. Non-magnetic, heavy for its size, and likely one of very few made. A fascinating artifact of 19th-century medal making and an exceptional addition for advanced Lincoln or exonumia collectors. Original.
