Original twenty six page newspaper from the Waterloo Daily Courier, Iowa, November 3, 1948, announcing that Harry Truman Wins Stunning Upset against Thomas Dewey. A photo and story on the front page states: "Battered - Gov. Thomas E Dewey of New York, conceded by all (but President Truman) to be a certain winner in Tuesday's general election, Wednesday conceded his defeats after an uphill battle for electoral votes...."
This was published shortly after the Chicago Daily Tribune had announced Dewey Defeats Truman on its front page.
