A glimpse inside the campaign of Senator Eugene McCarthy for the Democratic nomination for President to run against Richard Nixon. Three documents from the McCarthy for President Headquarters and the Massachusetts McCarthy for President Committee. Document #1 is a thirty six page document discussing the primary and begins with a telegram from McCarthy to organizers urging campaign organizers that "I have been fearful that the default to us in Massachusetts may cause our organization to slacken its activity...." and "The Massachusetts primary looks deceptively easy to win" but goes on to discuss a write-in campaign being "quietly organized by Johnson supporters".
Document #2 is a seventy two page oblong document called "Background Statements and Information on the Issues Facing the nation". Essentially a position statement for campaign workers. Document #3 issued by the McCarthy for President Headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts entitled "Signatures for McCarthy an effort designed to give evidence of massive grass-root support for McCarthy for President". All three documents offer an extensive look into the early campaign of Eugene McCarthy for President. All three documents are original. Although in rough condition, the information is intact and undisturbed. Issued to the a coordinator in Massachusetts
