1900 Elwell Otis Civil War Hero Sepia Button

Elwell Stephen Otis was a United States of America General who served in the American Civil War, Indian Wars, the Philippines late in the Spanish–American War and during the Philippine–American War. This button was produced as part of a celebration for Otis in Rochester, N.Y. his homeown. The button was produced by Whitehead & Hoag and the original backpaper is still attached. This is a version we have not seen before, in fact it took it took the help of several collectors to help us determine that it was in fact General Otis in the photo!
