1960s Lyndon Johnson Campaign & White House Term Cufflinks, Tie Bar & Pen Set. Original. The tie bar includes an image of an airplane and LBJ and '64 on either side. The Cufflinks have the Seal in the center and the words Vice President United States surrounding. The pen is a Readyriter brand giveaway type pen with the Seal of the President and a facimile of Lyndon Johnson's signature and the "White House" beneath. The items cover both LBJ's Vice Presidential and Presidential campaign and term in The White House. We even verified the patent number on the reverse of the cufflinks to the federal patent registry which was issued in 1960 during LBJ's term as Vice President.
In 1953, he was named Senate minority leader after opposing Republicans gained control of the United States Senate. Two years later, Johnson became Majority Leader when Democrats regained power.
