1909 Panama Canal Congressional Visit - Goulden of New York

Interesting dinner menu and invitation and dance invitation issued in 1909 by the Hotel Tivoli in Cancon Canal Zone. This was a "Farewell Dinner to the Members of the Goulden Congressional Party". Joseph A. Goulden was a congressman from New York who apparently was a visit to the Panama Canal. A year later congress voted on the construction of the Panama Canal. Oddly, while Goulden was present during the vote, according to records, he did not vote Yes or No despite his visit to the Canal Zone. Original.
