Unique folk art style framed display featuring a portrait of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the center with the words "In Him We Trust". The portrait is surrounded by a decorative seal design that says United Mine Workers of America and James P. Hamrick Local Union No. 6915 Valley Head, W. Va. The center design is surrounded by two American flags, the words "In Union is Power", "Justice For All" and the initials UMW of A (United Mine Workers of America) and two shovels and pick. Original.
Details
The 2010 census showed Valley Head, West Virginia with a population of just 267, no doubt showing the effect of the deterioration of towns such as this as coal mining decreased in the region.
