Classic political plate issued for the 1909 inauguration of Republican nominees William Howard Taft for President and James Schoolcraft Sherman for Vice President. At the bottom of the plate is is labeled "Grand Old Party 1856-1908 Standard Bearers" and the around the edges are pictures of all the Republican nominees for President. In the center are portraits of Taft and Sherman with American flags surrounding and the White House above. Below the portraits it says "Inauguration March 4, 1909 President William Howard Taft, Vice President James Schoolcraft Sherman. Very attractive and would display nicely on a bookshelf or library.
