Taft was Roosevelt's hand-picked successor. The medal is divided into four separate and attached segments each with a different message. Each segment carries a different message and graphic on either side. Includes references to building up the Army and Navy and continuing Theodore Roosevelt's legacy during the 1908 election.
Details
Teddy Roosevelt made sure that his long-time friend Senator Henry Cabot Lodge presided over the convention so that he could control the floor. The plan worked, and Roosevelt's faithful political ally William Howard Taft was nominated as the Republican presidential candidate.
