1896 Scarce Silver Party Convention Delegate Ticket. The Silver Party National Convention was held in St. Louis on July 22, 1896, about two weeks after the Democratic National Convention where William Jennings Bryan received his primary nomination for President. The Silver Party was formed by the delegates who left the Republican Party after its adoption of the gold standard. The Silver Republicans endorsed Democratic presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan who later lost to William McKinley in the general election. Only the third of these tickets we have ever had in our collection. Original.
