This is an original honored guest badge and ribbon from the 1956 Democratic National Convention held in Chicago. This the convention where then Senator John F Kennedy narrowly lost the nomination for Vice President to Adlai Stevenson.

Kennedy of Massachusetts Vice Presidential nominee addressed the convention. Dated 1956 Chicago. This was the Convention where JFK seeked the office of Vice President but was narrowly defeated despite Kennedy's fathers efforts.
The convention took place August 13-17 and nominated Adai Stevenson as President and Senator Sestes Kefauver as Vice President to run agains Dwight Eisenhower.
