1839 marked the first national convention of the Whig party. The part went on to nominate William Harrison and John Tyler for President and Vice President who went on to win the election in 1840. 44 page pamphlet still includes the original stitch/string binding. The pamphlet details the first national convention and includes attacks on President Martin Van Buren, the results of balloting for President. Interesting historic document, rarely seen.
Historical Notes
A letter from Henry Clay is included in the pamphlet positioning himself as a candidate, but agreeing to surrport whomever the convention selected.
