1956 Adlai Stevenson Chicago Democratic National Convention VIP Ticket Booklet. This is a booklet of six different session tickets to the 1956 Democratic National Convention in August of 1956. They are all box seat tickets that were part of a collection of items from a former Union leader and advisor to several democratic presidents and hopefuls. 3 of the tickets still have the stubs firmly attached. The other 3 tickets no longer have the stubs attached since they were removed upon entrance to the convention. Original.

Historical Notes

One of the most notable moments of the convention was the Adlai Stevenson’s decision to allow an open vote for his running mate, which resulted in Estes Kefauver defeating John F. Kennedy for the vice-presidential nomination.
