This is an original ribbon badge given to an Alternate Delegate to the 1956 Democratic National Convention held in Chicago. This is the convention where then Senator John F. Kennedy narrowly lost the nomination. With the original box. 

 

Historical Notes

The convention took place August 13-17 and nominated Adai Stevenson as President and Senator Estes Kefauver as Vice President to run against Dwight Eisenhower.
