This is an original ribbon badge given to an "Honored Guest" to the 1956 Democratic National Convention held in Chicago. This is the convention where then Senator John F. Kennedy narrowly lost the nomination for Vice President to Adlai Stevenson.

 

Historical Notes
The convention took place August 13-17 and nominated Adai Stevenson as President and Senator Sestes Kefauver as Vice President to run agains Dwight Eisenhower.
