1963 Rare U.S. Coast Guard Official Message on John F Kennedy Assassination Set of 3. Historically interesting set of three different U.S. Coast Guard Incoming Official Messages chronicling the events the assassination starting with the announcement that President Kennedy had been shot, then a second message announcing with "profound regret" the death of President Kennedy and then a third message from Robert S. McNamara, Secretary of Defense making the formal announcement of Kennedy's death. All are on the U.S. Coast Guard official incoming message thin paper form. Original.

1. Message: "The President, John F. Kennedy and the governor of Texas are in critical condition after being shot from ambush in Dallas Texas about Noon today." "Message passed for information only" apparently from a Radio Station at Washington, D.C.

2. Message: "Commandant announces with profound regret the death of President John F. Kennedy. Mourning in Accordance CHAP 20-10-1 of CG Regs. Mistakenly dated 1964 rather than 1963.

3. Extended Messagefrom Comdt Cogard: Statement from Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara: 'All members of the Armed Forces I have the sad duty of announcing to the Armed Forces of the United Stats the Death of John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the president of the United States, who was the victim of an assassins bullet friday, November 22. ....." Also mistakenly dated 1964 but corrected to 1963.
