Beautiful Krone Abraham Lincoln Fountain Pen with exceptional craftmanship, detail, elegant appearance and detail in the pen, wooden box and leather bound information booklet. A superb gift item or addition to any Lincoln, presidential or pen collection.
This pen has never been used and is engraved #159 of the Limited Edition of 1008. Each pen's sequential number is engraved on the barrel. These pens were obviously not an original pen used by Abraham Lincoln, nonetheless Krone has produced a pen it describes as being "made of he finest craftsmen, using the finest materials, creating a writing instrument unsurpassed in quality and durability" and we don't doubt that for a minute.
The fountain pen includes a .925 silver clip containing a small oval portrait of Abraham Lincoln which is engraved in 18kt-gold on the barrel of the pen. Lincoln's signature is engraved on a .925 silver band at the bottom of the cap. The two-toned, fine iridium-tipped 18k-gold nibe with the Krone name is guilloched on the nib. The pen also has a piston fill mechanism.
The leather bound booklet that accompanies the pen and wooden box is equally impressive and informative and also includes a Certificate of Authenticity from Krone. The outer purple box with the Krone logo is also included
The wooden box is adorned with a beared image of Abraham Lincoln on the front. On the side of the lid is a silver plaque that reads "Let us have faith that Right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it", with a raised facsimile signature of Lincoln beneath of the Logo of Krone beneath that.
The top of the cap includes a .925 silver bezel that Krone describes as "Krone has obtained the most highly authenticated strands of Abraham Lincoln's hair in existence. And, using the latest technology has taken those strangs and reproduced the DNA of America's greates President. This DNA, in crystallized for, is embedded in the amethyst stone of ever Limited Edition Abraham Lincoln Pen".

On the night of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, Lincoln's attending physcians Dr. Charles Augustus Leale and Dr. Charles Sabin Taft, removed a blood-soaked lock of hair behid the President's left ear to gain access to the fatal wound caused by the single bullet fired from the gunof John Wilkes Booth.
